I was feeling a little creative urge to make up a song about all the community helpers in our town. The tune is "The wheels on the bus".
(I only made the verses for the costumes of community helpers we had.)
The helpers in our Town
The policeman of the town says,
Slow-down, slow-down, slow-down.
The policeman of the town says,
Slow-down. To keep everyone safe on the road!
(ACTION: Use hand to motion slow down.)
The construction worker says,
Where your hat, where your hat, where your hat.
The construction worker says,
Where your hat. To keep your head safe from rocks!
(ACTION: Put on pretend hat.)
The baker of the town says,
Stir in the sugar, stir in the sugar, stir in the sugar.
The baker of the town says,
Stir in the sugar. To follow the cookie recipe!
(ACTION: Use one arm to be bowl while the other is pretending to stir the cookie batter.)
The firefighter of the town says,
STOP-DROP and ROLL, STOP-DROP and ROLL, STOP-DROP and ROLL.
The firefighter of the town says,
STOP-DROP and ROLL. To put out a fire on your clothes!
(ACTION: STOP, DROP and ROLL.)
The conductor of the train goes,
Choo-Choo, Choo-Choo, Choo-Choo.
The conductor of the train goes,
Choo-Choo. To make sure stay away from the train tracks!
(ACTION: Pull down the pretend train whistle.)
The teacher of the town says,
Shhh, Shhh, Shhh
The teacher of the town says,
Shhh, Shhh, Shhh. To see if the children can listen to the rules!
(ACTION: Put finger to lips.)
