We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo

We sang Raffi's version of "Going to the Zoo" all week long in anticipation of the big day.

But first we needed to practice being animals......

I bought a package of 21 zoopals plates, cut the eyes out and put yarn on the back to tie it on. We used the turtles, tigers and monkeys. (I was a little bummed there wasn't a Zebra.)

The adventurers are all playing inside a really
large furniture box.

The zookeeper enjoyed feeding the animals!

Field trip to the Zoo

I gave each of the adventurers a "You can find it" map with a picture and description of the different animals we could find at the zoo.

We had a fun time! How about you, you, you. You come too, too, too. We went to the zoo, zoo, zoo.

The zoo is the best! Now that the weather's cooling down I'm dying to take my nieces and nephews. I like your map idea.

Looks like a fun outing with your little ones.... but it makes me so sad to see those poor animals in such small spaces and sepaprate from one another - I am from South Africa and to see these animals one must go to game reserves where they live in their natural habitat doing what they were born to do. I feel so bad just knowing that there are these animals living off the continent in places they are not supposed to be and people pay to see them!
